Sports Management, Marketing, & Media In Today’s World

Are you considering a future in sports administration, coaching, sports medicine, or human performance?

This semester long class can be considered an honors level high school elective. Students can enroll in a graded or ungraded options (only students who select graded or pass/fail options will receive a transcript, all students who complete all assignments will receive a certificate of completion). Attendance can be synchronous, asynchronous or blended depending your schedule, and tuition includes access to zoom/phone office hours via a dedicated app (we use calendly).

Instructor Biography

Dave Morris

Dave Morris is a widely respected teacher and coach with experience spanning the past two decades teaching Coaching, Physical Education, Sports Management, and other courses at the collegiate level at a wide variety of institutions. As a third-generation educator, coach and consultant with experience coaching at every NCAA level, high school and with elite clubs. His teaching focuses on sports management, physical education and coaching at the high school and college levels.

Dave taught in the Center for Healthful Living at Oxford College of Emory, was an academic advisor and faculty in the Physical Education program at Oakland City University, Program Coordinator for Sports Management at Culver-Stockton College, and the Coaching Minor Program Coordinator at the University of Wisconsin – Stout. He also was involved in authoring accreditation documents, program and practicum evaluations, and other academic committee work in higher education.

Prior to his time in college, Dave was a high school coach and middle school teacher, specializing in Social Science and English as his undergraduate degree was in Asian Studies at the University of Michigan. He also earned a master’s degree from Frostburg State University (MD) in Education/Sports Management. Today, Dave lives with his wife Sharon and daughter Sydney in Tumwater, Washington.
